Building Faith in the Finger Lakes Group Workcamps are intensive one-week trips that help people grow in Christian faith through service. Up to 400 teams and their adult leaders from around the country will spend one week in our community performing hands-on home repair projects for elderly, low-income, and disabled families. The work at each home will be done by five young people, and at least one adult leader, representing many Christian denominations. The Episcopal Church of SS Peter and John in Auburn NY in conjunction with other local organizations will be co-sponsoring our second Workcamp July 25-29 2011, called "Building Faith in the Finger Lakes". Seeking Out Homes! We are actively seeking out homes in need of repair in the Greater Cayuga-Seneca County area (within a 30 minute drive of East Middle School) in the City of Auburn and surrounding communities such as Aurelius, Aurora, Cato, Cayuga, Elbridge, Fleming, Jordan, Marcellus, Marietta, Memphis, Montezuma, Moravia, Mottville, Owasco, Poplar Ridge, Port Byron, Scipio Center, Seneca Falls, Sennett, Skaneateles, Throop, Tyre, Union Springs, Waterloo, Weedsport. Eligible Repair Projects ° Painting (Exterior or Interior) ° Minor carpentry (i.e. fascia and soffit repairs) ° Mobile Home Underpinning (skirting) repairs and installation ° Roofing (roofing and roof-overs; NO TEAROFFS) ° Limited porch repair or construction ° Limited wheelchair ramp repairs or construction ° Weatherization (caulking, vents, weather-stripping, insulation) Can Not Do These Projects Ø Electrical Ø Plumbing Ø Heating Ø Gutters Ø Floor tiling Ø Windows/Doors Ø Painting over 28 ft (over 2nd story) Contact Information Both labor and materials will be FREE to qualifying to qualifying households.
